Gran Canaria : Playa
de los Amadores
Gran Canaria is certainly one of the last European
paradise isles.
A continent in miniature it offers lush forests,
exotic fauna and flora, sahara like dunes, mountains,
volcanic craters, sometimes snow on the highest
peaks, the most dynamic capital city in the Canaries,
incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular
beaches.

Playa de
los Amadores Beach:
Playa de los Amadores is wonderfully located on the
south of Gran Canaria between Puerto de Mogán
and Puerto Rico.
The expansive bay is protected from the ocean and the
golden sands are kept clean.
This is certainly one of our favourite
beaches. No ball games, or radios are allowed and there
is a good assortment of bars and restaurants directly
at the rear of the sanded area.
Excellent beach for kids and also
for the romantic. It has not been called 'the beach
of lovers' for nothing!
Playa
De Ingles Beach :
Playa De Ingles - this 3 kilometer long beach
is one of the most famous in Europe and also one
of the most crowded throughout the year.
Located in the largest tourist area of the island,
it features sporting activities like jet ski,
sailing, water skiing and many many more.
Basically, whatever you want to do you'll probably
find it here!

| Some
areas of the beach are used by nudists and it's
normal to find cabin-hut style bars and medical
centers here. |
Gran Canaria Culture :
 |
By the end
of the 15th century the incorporation of the Canary
Islands in the Castilian crown became consolidated.
One can say that by this time started the Hispanic
tradition of the islands. Until
then, the native people of the islands had their
own peculiar artistic expression, their own language,
religion and their own way of living.
But since the incorporation, the Canaries entered
the occidental culture to which Spain belonged,
as a people of Mediterranean origins.
Gran Canaria Island, due to its location, is an
obligatory passing point.
This cosmopolitan island enriches itself with
the visiting cultures, although keeping its ancient
traditions in order to keep alive the signs of
its identity.
|
They frequently celebrate festivals, internationally
renowned, as the Festival de Musical de Canarias
(Canaries Music Festival) or the Festival de Opera
(Opera Festival).
Other events as the Womad or Atlantic bring more
and more to this cosmopolitan culture, with the
mixture of cultures and new influences of the
international panorama.
